I’m so glad I mended the archway earlier this year because it is now holding up a huge mass of sweet peas!
The clematis on the other side was cut back quite harshly, so I’m not surprised it hasn’t grown as much yet. I’ve also had to tie the sunflowers to the framework to keep them from falling over.
I think that if you cut all of the sweet pea flowers off regularly, then it will encourage more to grow. I plan to give the first bunch this year to Mark’s mum, as she always enjoyed having them in the house in previous years.
